Olives

Olives have been a staple of the Mediterranean diet for at least 4,000 years. Add to that wheat, for pasta, and grapes, for wine, and you have the three primary ingredients of the diet of Mediterranean societies of the ancient world.

Adding olives to our daily diet is recommended because they contain monounsaturated fatty acids which is the healthy fat. It has been shown to reduce total and low-density lipoprotein ("LDL" or bad) while raising high-density lipoprotein, (HDL or good) cholesterol levels. One may even say an olive a day could keep the doctor away!

Our olive of the month club offers delicious variations on the olive such as mesquite almond stuffed or citrus brined, and others. Green, black, stuffed, pitted ... what will your favorite olive be. Visit our blog to find recipes and other information on olives.
